In the Summer pre-season period, from July 17th to July 20th, Ferencvárosi TC offer an opportunity to some European top womens' football teams to prepare themselves for their respective championships seasons and/or to the UEFA Women's Champions League games. So, the hosts organized an event where teams accepted their invitation could play friendly football matches on international level.

Let us shortly introduce the squads in alphabetical order. For simplicity, short team names are used.

Astra-Persecutor HFC: For 3 years of existencee, 1 time bronze and 1 time silver medallist in the Hungarian national league, 1 time cup winner.

NÖSV Neulengbach: 12 times in a row Austrian national champion, 10 times in a row cup winner. Ranked 7th in Europe, will start int he round of 32 in the UEFA WCL.

 Slavia Praha: 11 times champion of the Czech region in the former Czechoslovakia, 2 times Czechoslovak league champion, 3 times Czech league champion and 1 time cup winner. This year they made a "double". Ranked 21st in Europe, will start int he round of 32 in the UEFA WCL.

ZNK Pomurje: 4 times Slovenian champion, 5 times cup winner, made a "double" in the last three years in a row. Have to play a UEFA WCL qualifying round this August, in Montenegro, where MTK Hungária FC is going to take part as well.

Ferencvárosi TC: 2 times bronze medallist in the Hungarian national league, 2 times runner-up in the cup

The next year's Women's Soccer Cup is planned to take place from 16th to 19th July, 2015. Timely information will be given as to the expected participants.

News and interesting moments in connection with the tournament can be kept track of through the Facebook site of the tournament: "Women Soccer Cup 2014 by Ferencváros". Besides that, we'll try to hand over a printed copy of an Information Bulletin series to each team's chef at every lunch (at about 13:00) and dinner time (at about 19:00 hour).
